PPRD East II – Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Natural and Man-made Disasters in the Eastern Partnership Countries
The PPRD East Programme is the EU-funded Flagship Initiative for increasing disaster risk management capacities of Eastern Partnership societies and improving protection of populations from the negative consequences of natural and man-made disasters in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The second phase of the programme is implemented in 2015-2019. It focuses on (1) approximation of the Partner Countries’ legal and institutional frameworks to EU legislation and good practices in the area of civil protection and disaster risk management, (2) strengthening civil protection capacities of Partner Countries through joint trainings and exercises, further development and putting in practical use the Electronic Regional Risk Atlas, and (3) raising awareness about disasters.
