This accessibility statement applies to the website pelastusopisto.fi. The statement was prepared on 15 January 2021 and updated on 21 July 2025. The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services.
The accessibility of the website has been assessed by the Emergency Services Academy Finland without external review. However, parts of the site underwent an accessibility audit conducted by an external service provider in April 2024, and adjustments have been made based on the findings.
Accessibility status of the online service
The website partially meets the accessibility requirements. Below is a list of identified shortcomings. The reason for these deficiencies is disproportionate burden.
Non-accessible content of the digital service (in accordance with WCAG criteria)
- In some user interface components, the contrast between buttons and background may be too low. (WCAG 1.4.12)
- The website contains links to materials (e.g., PDF files) that may have partial accessibility issues. (WCAG 1.1.1, WCAG 1.3.1)
- Some illustrations may not meet contrast requirements for non-text content. (WCAG 1.4.11)
- Some professional terminology is used on the site, which may not be easily understandable to all users. (WCAG 3.1.3)
Material produced by third parties
We have a statutory obligation to publish certain documents related to monitoring and planning on our website. We are not responsible for the accessibility of content produced by third parties.
Web-based applications provided by third parties
The website includes links to content provided through third-party web-based applications, and any accessibility issues stem from those original applications. These web-based applications include, for example, the online application system and the registration functions of the course calendar.
