Fire officer / Engineer (Bachelor) Examination (240 ECTS)

Fire officer’s examination is arranged in cooperation with the Savonia University of Applied Sciences. It gives qualification to work in all officer positions in rescue departments. The aim of the studies is to prepare graduate students for the needs in the field of emergency services: to educate experts, who are able to think broadly, work in various positions, who are committed to their professional development, and have assimilated their role as maintainers and developers of safety in society.
One can complete the Fire officer’s examination in a youth or an adult line. In the youth line, students are chosen by joint application. In adult line, a person who has Sub-officer’s degree can continue his studies to become a Bachelor of Engineering.

Heads of the Fire officer’s study programme in 2008-2010 are Senior Instructors Matti Honkanen and Raija Lerssi.
